SSI was started in the 1990s under the name CPS Power Services Inc. Our company was originally started to provide operations and maintenance support for the Polk Power Station IGCC facility near Tampa Florida.

The founder of CPS Power Services provided  operations training, assisted with startup and operated the IGCC facility for many years. The intent of forming the company was to provide O&M services covering vacations and holidays for the station.

The company has grown over the years and today we provide an array of professional services to all synthesis production technologies and projects.

Because the name CPS Power Services was geared more toward IGCC rather than actual synthesis services, we reincorporated in Harris county Texas under the name Synthesis Services Inc.

Today our company is an experience base of people from many gasification facilities and projects that have joined together to provide an unparalleled startup, operations, engineering and project support services company. We can support projects from conceptual design throughout all phases of engineering, construction and startup all the way to plant maturity.
